Camp Discovery

In July of 2000, a dozen third-graders and six volunteers spent three days together exploring science, music, sports, art, and nature. We hope you enjoy our online scrapbook!

Wednesday, July 12

After a morning of getting to know each other and eating a delicious lunch provided by Domino's Pizza, we went way up high to see the carillon in the Lurie Bell Tower. Music Professor Margo Halsted let us each play a note! carillon visit
We had lots of fun learning the "Chickee Dance."
meeting a lamb Next we headed to Domino's Farm where we met lots of animals, including a three-day-old lamb and a pig that weighed almost 1000 pounds!

      We also took a hayride ...

... and played with the tractor on the way out.
We had a great first day!
