| Mentors and coordinators will work together to accomplish the following: | ||
| Monitor and test students monthly to measure progress and revise the program as needed. | ||
| Measure progress to reach the success objective for each student by the date of the January district-wide reading test. | ||
| Change mentors, or provide support as needed. | ||
| Communicate at two-week intervals during the first three months to review progress, working relationships, and study conditions (including the learning environment, materials, interest, effort, and discipline). | ||
| Schedule learning sessions to fit student and family and mentor’s time available. | ||
| Schedule independent student reading time and assignments. Use student “free” time, on bus, waiting, relaxing. | ||
| Collaborate with student/family on strategies: writing, reading, record-keeping. | ||
| Assess as necessary to clarify problem areas. | ||
