  • Motivational methods

Parents Have Key Responsibilities:

  1. Encourage your child to read
  2. Help with new words and meaning
  3. Limit television time
  4. Praise progress and accomplishments
It’s important to remember that we don’t read just for the sake of reading. We always read for some purpose:
  • Road signs and maps when traveling
  • Name brands, prices, and nutrition facts when shopping
  • Newspapers, magazines, and books for news and pleasure
  • Text books for education
  • Instruction and directions on the job

For children, the secret to enjoying reading is lots of easy and interesting material and a reason for reading it.

If you or your child get frustrated or discouraged, remember that we are working on a million-dollar project and that, although success comes to those who keep trying, you can cheerfully set it aside and try again another day.
