The museum has eight research and exhibit divisions: Great Lakes Archaeology, North American Archaeology, Asian Archaeology, Ethnology, Ethnobotany, Physical Anthropology, New World High Civilizations, and Old World High Civilizations. The museum often has Special Exhibits.
